The Whistler Grooming was founded by Ebony Gilbert, whose lifelong love for animals inspired a career dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and their families.

Originally from a small country town in South Australia, Ebony moved to the Illawarra more than a decade ago. After completing her studies as a qualified pharmacist, she spent several years in the healthcare industry before realising her true passion lay elsewhere—working with animals.

That passion was ignited by her beloved rescue German Shepherd, Ellie. Like many rescue dogs, Ellie came with her own unique challenges and taught Ebony the importance of patience, trust, and understanding. Through Ellie, Ebony discovered how much of a difference compassionate handling and proper coat care could make to a dog's confidence and overall wellbeing.

Determined to turn that passion into a profession, Ebony retrained as a professional dog groomer and has never looked back. She has continued to invest in advanced education, modern grooming techniques, and premium products, ensuring every dog receives the highest level of care in a safe, low-stress environment.

Today, Ebony has built The Whistler Grooming into one of the Illawarra's premier luxury dog grooming salons, welcoming dogs from Albion Park Rail, Shellharbour, Kiama, Wollongong, and surrounding suburbs. Her philosophy is simple: every dog deserves to be treated as an individual, never rushed, and always cared for as though they were her own.
